The soap bottle is made of translucent, shatter-resistant high-density polyethylene with a 34-fl oz (1.0-L) capacity. The pump and soap delivery system uses a plastic gear pump submerged in the bottle to pump liquid soap through a vinyl tube to the spout. The bottom housing, made of water-resistant ABS plastic, holds the PC board, the motor for the gear pump, and the gear pump housing. It has a portion control knob, a flush button for system cleaning and maintenance, a connector for fiber optic cables, and a power port. The electronic activation/indication system uses fiber optic cables to connect the activation lenses to an IR sensor on the PC board in the bottom housing and an LED to an acrylic lens at the spout tip. Note that Bobrick liquid soap dispensers are designed for commercially marketed all-purpose liquid hand soaps that are not alcohol or iodine-based. The unit is designed for installation in counters up to 2' (50mm) thick with a 1-3/8' (35mm) diameter mounting hole. It can be mounted through a special hole when ordering the lavatory. The recommended mounting location is 6' to 8' (150 to 205mm) from the back wall and 3' (75mm) from the sink rim to the center of the mounting hole. There should be a minimum 18' (455mm) vertical and 5' (125mm) diameter clearance below the mounting hole for the soap bottle and bottom housing. Plug the AC adapter into the wall and the end plug into the power port on the bottom housing. For sinks with a rim over the counter, make sure the rim doesn't touch the activation area.
