Using this shower seat is easy. To open it, use one hand to gently pull the seat down. The gas struts will help it lower slowly to the operating position. When you're done, push the seat up partially, and the spring detent in the guide brackets will lock it in place for storage. Since it's designed for ADA accessibility, it's great for people with physical disabilities and the elderly. Be careful not to put excessive weight on the seat beyond its capacity. For maintenance, regularly wipe the seat with a mild cleaner to keep it clean. The stainless - steel parts can be wiped with a soft cloth.
