The Swing - Up Grab Bar is crafted from 304 stainless steel alloy (18 - 8) with a Satin finish. It features a 1 - 1/2” diameter (Ø38) wall tubing hinge that rides on a solid bar axle and is balanced by twin torsion springs. There's a vertical position gravity lock with a manual release. You can use tamper - resistant screws to lock the bar vertically. It's easy to operate with just one hand. The grab bar tube has a plastic end cap to soften the contact with the wall plate when in use. This exposed flange (1 - 1/2″ O.D) smooth swing - up grab bar is a practical addition to any space.
Using the swing - up grab bar is simple. You can operate it with one hand. Just use the manual release to unlock it from the vertical position. To lock it back in the vertical position, you can use the tamper - resistant screws provided. When using, be aware that the plastic end cap is there to protect the wall plate, so try not to damage it. For maintenance, clean the bar regularly with a mild cleaner. Avoid using abrasive materials that could scratch the Satin finish of the stainless steel.
