Operation:
The swing-up grab bar can be manually lifted for entry or exit and lowered to a horizontal position for support. Once fully upright, its counterweighted design keeps it from falling back down.
Strength:
When properly installed, the swing-up grab bar can support loads over 500 pounds (227 kg). Safety warning: The strength of the grab bar depends on the anchors and walls it's attached to. It must be firmly secured. If it's not well-attached or there's weld damage, remove it from service to avoid injury.
Installation:
Install the concealed anchor device or backing as per local building codes before finishing the wall. Then fasten the grab bar to the anchor or backing. Concealed anchor devices and mounting screws are not included with Bobrick grab bars and need to be ordered as optional accessories.
